Pumpkin Trace & Halloween Tracing
A big dotted pumpkin to trace, or pick a ghost, bat, spider web or haunted house. Print it or save a PDF.

How to make a pumpkin tracing sheet
- The page opens with the pumpkin selected. To change it, choose a Category in the Pictures box and click a thumbnail. Tick ‘Select several pictures’ to click more than one.
- Pick a layout. ‘One big picture per page’ is the default. ‘Two pictures per page’ and ‘Four pictures per page’ fit more on one sheet. ‘Trace it, then draw it yourself’ and ‘Draw the other half (symmetry)’ add practice boxes.
- Choose a Tracing style: Dots (the default), Dashes, Light grey line or Solid black.
- Set Detail to ‘Simple’ for ages 3 to 5, or ‘Full’ for older children.
- Under ‘Word under the picture’, choose No word, Word to trace or Word as a model.
- Choose the paper size (US Letter or A4) and the Orientation (Portrait or Landscape).
- Edit the title if you wish, or switch off the Name and date line. The preview updates as you change each setting.
- Click Print or Download PDF.
Tick ‘Thick lines’ for a bolder dotted outline. ‘Small model picture in the corner’ shows a solid copy to look at, and it works with the One layout and pack only. Print opens your browser’s print dialog with only the worksheet pages. Download PDF builds a vector file that prints at true size. Copy link gives you a link that reopens the same settings.
These sheets are free to use at home, in class or in products you sell, such as Etsy printables or KDP Halloween activity books.
Which Halloween pictures can I trace?
The tool has 15 pictures in two categories. Characters are the ghost, bat, spider, black cat, witch, skeleton and scarecrow. Things are the pumpkin, jack-o’-lantern, spider web, witch hat, candy corn, candy, cauldron and haunted house.
Each picture is printed as dotted lines, and hidden parts never show through, so the child only follows lines that are meant to be seen. Eyes, noses and buttons stay as small solid dots, which keeps faces easy to read. Dot size and spacing grow with the printed size of the picture, so a large picture has bigger dots that are easier to follow.
The spider web is a useful choice for practice. It is made of spokes from the center and rings between them, so one picture gives a child straight lines and curves together. The pumpkin and the jack-o’-lantern are close relatives. The pumpkin is plain, so it works well for coloring, or for drawing your own face on it after tracing. The jack-o’-lantern has a carved face, so the child traces a more detailed shape.
Are the Halloween pictures scary?
No. Every picture is a friendly, rounded cartoon outline for young children, and nothing is gory. The characters have kind faces, so a friendly ghost or a round pumpkin gives a clear, simple outline to follow.
Each picture is drawn by TracingPDF’s own code. None are copied clip art, and none show cartoon characters or brands. For the youngest tracers, choose ‘Simple (outlines and main features)’ as the Detail setting. It leaves out tiny detail lines, which makes the shapes easier to trace.
For a Halloween party or a classroom table, Four pictures per page gives a quick sheet with a ghost, a bat, a pumpkin and a spider web together, and the pumpkin to trace on its own page leaves room for a child to draw a face of their choice afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Is the pumpkin trace printable?
Yes. Click Print to open your browser’s print dialog, which shows only the worksheet pages. You can also click Download PDF for a file that prints at true size.
Is it free?
Yes. The tool runs in your browser, is free, and needs no sign-up. Nothing you choose is uploaded or sent to a server.
Can I print a Halloween tracing pack?
Yes. Tick ‘Whole pack: every picture in this category, one per page’. The PDF starts with a cover page of thumbnails and names, then has one picture per page. Tick ‘Shuffle the pack order’ to change the order. The preview shows only the first 6 pages, but Print and Download PDF include the whole pack.
Are the Halloween tracing sheets free for commercial use?
Yes. The pictures are our own drawings, and the sheets you make are royalty-free for personal, classroom and commercial use, including Etsy printables, Teachers Pay Teachers, KDP books and print-on-demand. No credit is required, and the only thing you may not do is copy the generator itself to run a competing service.
Can I print the sheets on A4 paper?
Yes. Choose A4 under paper size, or US Letter if that is what your printer uses. Then check the preview before you print.
